Matti Rantanen is a painter from Espoo. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from London Metropolitan University in 2008 and the Free School of Art in 2000. Rantanen has held several solo and group exhibitions, and his works are included in the art collections of HAM, Pro Artibus and the state of Finland. Rantanen’s work is based on the tradition of geometric painting and it deals with the basic issues of visual art, spatial illusion, spatial experience, the feel and perspective of material.
